  • Phase 1 2016 - 2018
  • Phase 2 2018 - 2021

The C40 Cities Finance Facility (CFF) is a project preparation facility implemented jointly by C40 Cities and the German Agency for International Cooperation. It was launched in 2015 at COP21 in Paris. Throughout its first and second phases from 2016 to 2021 it was supported by the German, British, and American governments, including the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation.

The CFF engages with city governments and aims to bridge the gap between cities and finance by fully developing the city’s climate action projects to a level we deem as investment-ready. Specifically, the CFF looks to support tangible infrastructure projects that not only deliver the crucial climate impacts that contribute to meeting the Paris Agreement but also at wider environmental and societal co-benefits.

The below projects were supported by the CFF from 2016 - 2021. Please click on the project pages for specific information and resources.
