Quezon City, supported by the C40 Cities Finance Facility (CFF), will develop the business case for solar rooftops on 50 public schools in the city. The city will then be able to roll-out solar rooftops to all public schools, public buildings, and social housing projects.

As a part of this journey they have developed three new knowledge reports that encompass the learnings and lessons from this project.

C40 Cities and GIZ together with the Philippine Department of Energy are happy to share the publication of the new Guidebook on Net-Metering in the Philippines. This guidebook is among the commitments outlined in the DOE Department Circular No. DC 2020-10-0022 known as “Prescribing the Policies to Enhance the Net-Metering Program for Renewable Energy Systems”, updating the first guidebook published in 2013 among others. The new net-metering guidebook captures the changes and advancements since the first guide and aims to prescribe the guidelines and procedures for Net-Metering arrangements from the offer to after-sales services by the Net-Metering installers and practitioners as well as prescribing the minimum standards for all Net-Metering installations, in collaboration with all concerned government agencies.
The net metering guidebook can be accessed on DOE's website -> link below.
